We work with our clients to give them the opportunity for a vaginal birth after cesarean also referred to as VBAC. There are certain factors that improve your chances and can be discussed individually with your midwife. Our success rate for VBACs at Southwest Midwives 87.5% in 2019 which is higher than the global rate which is approximately 70%. We believe that all women have the right to safe and accessible options for future births and we can help you make an informed decision. Contact us to discuss your options.
There are several important things to consider when finding out that you are pregnant. Avoid smoking, drinking alcoholic beverages, and sitting in hot tubs and hot springs. Begin taking prenatal vitamins and do not take any medication without consulting your care provider. Eat plenty of nutritious foods and try to drink 2-3 quarts of water per day. Finally, we recommend calling us to schedule your first OB visit 970-247-5543.
